MAR Social Media Comments Policy

The Montana Association of REALTORS® welcomes comments to its social media sites, including its Facebook, Twitter and Vimeo pages

We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum.

We recognize the web is a 24/7 medium, and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage our staff resources, we generally only monitor comments and postings during regular business hours.

Once posted, MAR reserves the right to delete submissions that contain:

  • Vulgar or abusive language;
  • Personal or obscene attacks of any kind;
  • Offensive terms targeting individuals or groups;
  • Threats or defamatory statements;
  • Links to any site;
  • Suggestions or encouragement of illegal activity;
  • Multiple successive off-topic posts by a single user or repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users, or spam;
  • Unsolicited proposals or other business ideas or inquiries; or
  • Promotion or endorsement of commercial services, products, or entities. (Note that non-commercial links that are relevant to the topic or another comment are acceptable.)

Multiple violations of the Social Media Comment Policy can result in the offending user being banned from use of MAR's social media sites.

Please note that the comments expressed on this site do not reflect the opinions and position of the Montana Association of REALTORS®, its officers or its employees. If you have any questions concerning the operation of MAR's social media sites, please contact MAR’s Communications Director at bhaines@montanarealtors.org.
