YPN

There’s a buzz word in real estate circles these days that might not be familiar to every REALTOR®, but should be. It can open up a whole new world for you and your career. It’s similar to when someone lets you in on that “secret” new phone app that is going to make your life more productive or more organized or more fun. The buzz word is simple. The buzz word is YPN.

YPN, or Young Professionals Network, is a movement that started in 2006 as a way for REALTOR® Magazine to build off the momentum of its popular “30 Under 30” feature, which recognizes rising stars in real estate. It quickly blossomed into something much bigger and now offers its members networking events, education and a unique “online meeting place” called the YPN Lounge. Local and state chapters began forming in 2009, and now Montana is listed among the countless associations that have YPN groups.

YPN helps young real estate professionals excel in their careers by giving them the tools and encouragement to become involved in their REALTOR® associations, the real estate industry, peer groups and their community. Groups around the state have held several events that benefit local charities, provide unique networking opportunities, and have increased member involvement. Individual REALTORS® aren’t the only ones who benefit from YPN involvement in Montana. When members get involved, the Montana Association of REALTORS® reaps rewards. We are forming our next generation of leaders, and well as tapping into new ideas and fresh concepts. YPN members offer unique perspectives to meet the changing demand in the real estate business.

The great thing about YPN is, although it’s right in the name, “young” is not a requirement. While most members of YPN are under 40, there is no age limit. Any REALTOR® who thinks he or she would benefit from membership is welcome to join.
